One of my funding ideas is to do some rip-it and ship-it’s, as well as getting video content for short and full video formats. Editing is an issue for now, but livestreaming should be fine. One of my side projects from opening is to record every card pulled and follow the value of it over time, plus the market value thinking about using ManaBox to record it, as well as maybe an excel sheet.
Now a days I am unable to afford my old habit of being a true collector, so when working on this project concept I thought long and hard on what would attract me on social media, if I still was a one. So value tracking, as well as checking actual pull rates over time. I wont be able to buy cases of Spiderman, or any set for at least a year, or more. Unless some people really like my concepts. So as I start out on this path, I decided to start with stating my goals and concepts in writing, review, edit, and then refine. I hope over time, these posts are viewed and commented on, now that I think about it, I am unsure if they can be commented on.
Currently we have one pc that can be used for OBS, my personal pc has a damaged processor, I think. I have been thinking since my looks are subpar (plus obese) that I just want to record the packs being opened and not myself at the same time. I have been looking into how to livestream from a phone, and through a computer. I have also been looking into multi streaming to as many platforms as I can find, instead of focusing on one. Find where I get the most views, focus there, yet keep utilizing as many options as possible at the lowest cost.
If some how my test streams (hopefully starting in June 2025) go well, I can afford either a new PC, and better cameras, or maybe even buying extra boxes. I feel like this has been a ramble of ideas, a part of me wishes I actually used my refined concept instead of this free flowing mess. To anyone who reads this, please let me know what you think of it.
I originally just wanted to unboxing videos, and after exploring the web a bit, I realized that live selling packs, and opening could help with creating funding and content, two in one. I have noticed quite a few people doing it all day long, many days a week, and while I would love to open packs all the time, I think that is not for me. As it stands my plans are looking to be on the last Tuesday of each month I will live stream unboxing, as well as selling packs live. I started a Patreon, with the idea of treating those who support through it, as shareholders in a business, sending monthly reports, memos, and requesting advice, about the future direction people want. For each collector on Patreon, I plan to send a monthly portfolio report, about what their collection they have received from me is worth, and how much they spent. This package will not be for those who are trying to get value, it costs more then the rip-it and ship-it price I am planning on doing. While I do hope to find a few people early on who will want to help and support, quite honestly I do not see that happening.
I hope to pull in some friends at first to run the stream on OBS, but worst case scenario, I will handle it all. I do have permission to do this from La Pine Tabletop Gaming, the new card shop in La Pine, Oregon. If you have any thoughts, tips, suggestions, please do not hesitate on leaving a comment. This is still a rough draft plan, while I am close to going live, and have my own thoughts on what to do. I still require outside help in shaping my direction.
Thank you for your time and understanding
